The event takes place from 6 to 10 p.m., Saturday, March 10, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, 42 Century Drive.

There will be an array of fine wine, beer and spirit tastings from local top distributors.

Maple End Package Store in Bristol and owner Marvin Friedman coordinated the more than 50 distributors and exhibitors. Food stations will be set up as well as live music by the Billy Cofrances Jazz Quartet and a spirited silent auction. All proceeds from the event help fund the upcoming renovations of the Bristol Hospital Emergency Center.

“This is a great opportunity where hospital employees, business leaders and the community at large come together to support the vital mission of Bristol Hospital,” said Mary Lynn Gagnon, executive director of the Bristol Hospital Development Foundation. “Last year’s event set a record with 300-plus attendees and about $50,000 was raised for our emergency center.”

Gagnon added that the event co-chairs include John Walker, MD, who represents the event’s Platinum Sponsor, Radiologic Associates, and Craig Mittleman, MD, who represents another top sponsor, US Acute Care Solutions, which is the physician group of the Bristol Hospital Emergency Center. Mittleman also serves chairman of Bristol Hospital’s Department of Emergency Medicine.

“This is really a lively event and we greatly appreciate the generosity of all our sponsors, event co-chairs and Marv Friedman,” Gagnon said. “The emergency center serves as the front door to Bristol Hospital and events like this help ensure that our medical team provides safe and quality care to the Greater Bristol community.”

Sponsorship opportunities for the Festival of Wine and Spirits are still available. Tickets for the event are $125 each. For sponsorship information and to purchase tickets, please call the Bristol Hospital Development Foundation, 860-585-3365.
