Ingraham Manor was recently able to renovate its two nursing stations and nourishment room thanks to a generous donation by the Harry F. and Carol H. Barnes Family Foundation.
“We love the design of them,” said Jonathan Neagle, assistant vice president and administrator at Ingraham Manor.
Neagle said the two nursing stations on the second and third floors were previously made of textured wood that, over about 20 years, had chipped, broken and splintered. They were also not very conducive to the day-to-day operations of a nurse.
The new setup, made of a high-grade lamented wood, is much more open and “user friendly,” Neagle said.
The renovations also included a new nourishment room for the residents, who can have staff access, a microwave, toaster and ice machine for them.
“It truly enhances their lives,” Neagle said.
The renovations, which were completed about a month and a half ago, were made possible by about a $50,000 donation from the Harry F. and Carol H. Barnes Family Foundation. Harry Barnes, a beloved member of the Barnes family, resided at Ingraham Manor - a skilled nursing facility - for years before he passed away.
“You guys were so great to him,” Tom Barnes, president of the Harry F. and Carol H. Barnes Family Foundation, said to the staff who were present at a ceremony Friday celebrating the renovations. “We really appreciate all that you did.”
