Know the Signs of a Heart Attack

The way you or someone you love may think a heart attack happens or what the signs of one are may not be accurate. Simply knowing the signs saves lives.

A heart attack occurs when the blood flow that brings oxygen to the heart muscle is severely reduced or cut off.

Warning Signs

Chest pain, tightness, heaviness or discomfort

It may feel like a pressure, squeezing, burning or fullness in the chest. Discomfort may spread to your arms, back, neck, jaw or stomach.

Extreme Fatigue

Unusual fatigue that lasts for multiple days can be an indicator of heart trouble.

Shortness of breath with exertion

It becomes hard to breathe, often times for no apparent reason.
