What's the Difference Between Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes?
Both types of diabetes are chronic diseases that affect the manner in which your body is able to regulate its glucose - but for different reasons.
People with type 1 diabetes are unable to produce insulin - the hormone produced by the pancreas that regulates the amount of glucose in your blood.
For people with type 2 diabetes, their body does not respond to insulin as well as it should and as the disease progresses often times no longer produce enough insulin.
Common Symptoms
Type 1 and type 2 diabetes share similar symptoms. Some common signs you may have diabetes include:
- Constantly feeling thirsty
