The Families are First Birthing Center offers a two-day evening program for expectant parents to prepare them for the labor and delivery process. This includes education about the basics of anatomy in pregnancy and during labor, breathing and relaxation techniques, and the role of the labor support person. You will also learn about nonmedical and medical pain-relief options. In addition, we will discuss common variations, such as interventions in labor, induction and cesarean birth. The instructor incorporates hands-on learning with lecture and audio-visual materials. This class is open to anyone regardless of their selected birth hospital. Please bring a pillow and a towel to class.
Class is held on both May 13 and continues on May 20
A Families are First Birthing Center unit tour is included.
