BRISTOL, CT — Sept. 10, 2021 — Bristol Health is hosting its first-ever Virtual Recruitment Events. The multi-day events run for four days, with three sessions per day beginning Sept. 14, 2021 and are a new and innovative way to provide job seekers an opportunity to explore open positions, speak with clinical leaders and even begin the application process.

The events are specifically for nursing positions, including Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and for nursing assistant positions, including Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Patient Care Assistants (PCAs), Medical Assistants (MAs) and other similar roles.

“Our Virtual Recruitment Events are an opportunity to do something exciting and new that our health system has not done yet,” said Lisa Stevens, Bristol Health’s director of Human Resources. “Nursing vacancies continue to grow on a national level and we want to be as proactive as possible in addressing this by actively inviting these amazing caregivers to come and learn more about Bristol Health, the opportunities here and all that we have to offer.”

According to a 2020 report published by the Bureau for Labor Statistics, the need for registered nurses is expected to grow by 12 percent from 2018 to 2028 and the need for LPNs is projected to increase by 11 percent and nursing assistants by 9 percent during that same time frame. Just a 7 percent growth is projected across all other occupations. Virtual recruitment events have grown in popularity as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. A Gartner, Inc. poll of human resource leaders found that 86 percent of organizations are making use of virtual technology to recruit and interview candidates as well as to onboard new hires.

Bristol Health has a history of nursing excellence and recently achieved Magnet recognition for the second time. The designation is awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Only about 8 percent of hospitals in the U.S. achieve Magnet status, which recognizes nursing excellence and professionalism.

“It’s the culture that makes the nursing team here at Bristol Health so special,” said Associate Chief Nursing Officer Nancy LaMonica. “Through even the most difficult days – and this last year and a half with the pandemic health care hasn’t been easy – however we always stick together, support each other and believe our priority is delivering the best care for our patients. It’s amazing to be a part of a team and a culture like this. I am proud to be a nurse and there’s nothing better than being one here at this organization.”

Bristol Health’s Virtual Recruitment Events take place over a four-day period, with two days set for RNs and LPNs and two days for nursing assistant positions. There will be three sessions each day held over ZOOM. Participants only need to attend one session.
