Non-Emergency Transportation

In addition to responding to all 9-1-1 emergencies, Bristol Health EMS also provides scheduled, non-emergency transportation for individuals throughout the state, providing all types of specialized medical transportation and pre-hospital care.

Safe and Comfortable Transportation 

Keeping with our mission to serve all those who call our community home, our fleet of vehicles consists of not only ambulances but wheelchair accessible vans in order to serve those who have difficulty getting around.

Our wheelchair livery services proved non-emergency transportation services to individuals who require wheelchair assistance when traveling to routine medical appointments, procedures and screenings. Our team has specialized training in wheelchair livery services and have the experience and skills to ensure your travel is timely and safe.

We Provide Transportation To:

  • Doctor appointment
  • Physical therapy sessions
  • Skilled nursing facilities
  • Dialysis appointments
  • ​All other medical visits

Will Insurance Cover Transportation?

Insurance plans have varying rules and requirements regarding the coverage of non-emergency ambulance service. The majority of insurance companies require that using non-emergency transportation is medically necessary and may ask for prior-approval, doctor's signature and the reason for transport and destination.
