Our Advanced Services Include:
Mammography with computer-aided detection
Our digital mammography services include computer-aided detection, which can catch breast cancers earlier than ever before.
3D mammography
Advanced 3D mammography provides physicians with more detailed images of your breast for the most accurate diagnoses.
Stereotactic breast biopsy
Advanced imaging technology is used to help doctors take a sample of breast tissue with a needle. The tissue sample can then be assessed for cancer. At Bristol Health, we can use 3D mammography technology to guide these biopsies.
Breast ultrasound
Sound waves are used to help doctors determine whether an abnormality is cancerous.
Breast MRI
Women with dense breasts may benefit from a breast MRI in addition to mammography. Breast MRIs provide more detailed images of breasts.
Ultrasound-guided biopsy
Doctors use ultrasound technology to guide a needle into a breast abnormality to take a sample. The sample can then be assessed for cancer.
Preoperative needle localization
If you are having a surgical biopsy, imaging technology may be used before the procedure to help guide surgeons to the breast abnormality. Before your procedure, a radiologist will take an image of your breast, numb the area and then guide a needle and wire to the abnormality. The wire stays in place until the abnormality is removed during surgical biopsy.
Lymphoscintigraphy
Also called sentinel node mapping, this imaging procedure uses a specialized dye to see which lymph nodes may be affected by breast cancer cells.
